Hi, I am Chef Zara. In this post, I will guide you through the Cookbooks For Men.
I love exploring new foods and recipes and cooking with friends and family. One of the most common questions that I often get is for cookbook recommendations. I have created this guide for friends, family, and new friends alike. I hope that you enjoy our site.
The final guide for men! Delicious recipes and cooking techniques!
If there is a bad rap that single men face, they are not very competent in the kitchen. I remember the first few years out on my own as a single man, and the only things I had mastered were spaghetti and a basic cheeseburger. I don’t think I made my first chicken breast until I was in my late twenties! It’s a safe bet that I’ve probably eaten more spaghetti before 30 than the populations of many third-world countries.
We’ve compiled a list of the 10 Cookbooks for Men That Will Make Your Life Easier!
1. The 5-Ingredient Cookbook for Men
Why We Love It ❤️
What’s not to like about a cookbook with simple dishes made up of only five ingredients per recipe? If you are a young man in college or that bachelor who’s never been able to master more than a can of SpaghettiOs, this book will be your savior.
Review 📖
Benjamin Kelley’s cookbook for men is wonderful for its ability to help men figure out what that big, white thing in the kitchen with the burners is for. Just because the chapters have “Brawny,” “Burly,” and “Studly” in the titles, do not dismiss this as only a gimmicky cookbook. Kelly has taken the time to cover everything that one might find in a high-end culinary work, but he does so in a clear, concise, and not overwhelming way for the entry-level cook. Kelley has included subjects such as proper preparation, different ingredients work, the importance of navigating a supermarket, and even knife skills.
2. Wood Pellet Smoker and Grill Cookbook
Why We Love It ❤️
This book is incredibly detailed in its mission to help the beginner chef achieve the highest levels of the art of wood pellet smoking.
Review 📖
If you are into the art of wood pellet grill smoking, this cookbook for men will be a dream come true! Roger Murphy looks at why wood pellet smoking is important and the various cuts of the steer, and he also provides techniques on smoking poultry, fish, and vegetables. The recipes in the book are so comprehensive and detailed that they require as many as 3-4 pages just to get the point across. To go along with the recipes for Brisket and Korean Kalbi Beef Short Ribs, there are also plenty of dishes for the healthier, wood pellet smoker crowd, including Chipotle Turkey Burgers, Chili Limed Cod in Parchment Paper, and Salmon and Avocado Eggs Benedict to name a few.
3. One-Pan Cookbook for Men
Why We Love It ❤️
As someone who enjoys cooking and baking, I easily get caught up in believing that I need a shelf full of expensive pots and pans to do anything of value. Still, John Baily demonstrates how much can be accomplished with a single pan and some basic ingenuity.
Review 📖
This cookbook for men is about ditching those processed frozen meals in favor of affordable, easy-to-make dishes that will taste better and be healthier. All John Baily requires is that you have either a simple non-stick for your stovetop or a hefty cast-iron pan that can start on the stovetop and then make its way into the oven. John covers all the essential food groups, including meats, seafood, and vegetables, and of course, the recipes themselves are laid out in an easy-to-comprehend format, making it difficult for even the most incompetent bachelor to screw things up.
4. The How-To Cookbook for Men
Why We Love It ❤️
Benjamin Kelly comes across as a man who speaks from the heart and who clearly has a deeply ingrained passion for all things culinary. If you are new to cooking or just feeling intimidated by the whole thing, he is in your corner and will lead you through the battle to the promised land.
Review 📖
This Cookbook for men is designed not only to provide recipes for those men out there trying to figure out what cooking actually is but it is also meant to build confidence to be able to go that extra step; to try more complex recipes that will not only impress friends and family but will carry you throughout the rest of your life. Benjamin breaks down the basics of cooking, kitchen preparation, and necessary tools and equipment. He talks about the importance of shopping for the freshest ingredients and has laid out the overall process in an easy-to-follow format that will get you up and running in no time.
5. A Man, A Pan, A Plan
Why We Love It ❤️
The first thing you might notice is that Paul Kita is not just a random author; he is a writer for Men’s Health which means that the recipes in this cookbook for men are not only going to taste good, but they will also be healthy!
Review 📖
One of the most interesting and unexpected pieces of advice in this book that I didn’t see coming is a tutorial on how to read a recipe because, according to Kita, people tend to skim over recipes which could lead to missed steps. Paul Kita also stresses the importance of preparation beforehand so that you are not scrambling to prepare things while you’ve already got something on the heat. And maybe the most valuable tip is to have a drink while you’re cooking. According to Paull, nothing makes cooking easier than having an alcoholic beverage. Overall, this is an incredibly detailed cookbook for men that leaves no stone unturned.
6. Fit Men Cook
Why We Love It ❤️
This cookbook for men is as much a motivational tool for good health as it is a recipe resource. It almost feels like Kevin Curry is trying to will you to succeed through his positive attitude and incredible drive alone!
Review 📖
From the get-go, Kevin demonstrates that he is every bit of a motivational speaker. “If you’re reading this, it’s not too late”! “You simply cannot out-train a poor diet.” And “#Success is not free” are just some of the many motivational messages that run through the length of this cookbook for men. As far as Kevin is concerned, it is his job to pull you across the finish line. In addition to 100+ recipes that cover meats, poultry, salads, soups, and sides, Kevin talks about everything from meal prep, tackling healthy eating pitfalls, and creating your very own custom meal plan.
7. Meat Illustrated
Why We Love It ❤️
It’s a pretty safe bet that just about anything by America’s Test Kitchen will be good. This is an organization that prides itself on testing and educating on the finest equipment and recipes in the culinary industry.
Review 📖
In this cookbook for men, America’s Test Kitchen goes above and beyond the call of duty in breaking down every valuable bit of the steer and then provides a wealth of recipes that have been tested, refined, tested again, and refined again to produce a dish that is of the highest quality. This is a hardcover book that is an astounding 432 pages long enough to answer just about any question you may have about meat preparation, from selecting the best cut depending on the occasion to proper seasoning to the most effective searing and baking techniques.
8. The Bachelor Cookbook
Why We Love It ❤️
This cookbook for men is not a work of culinary pretentious; it is a bare-bones homage to the young bachelor looking to make his way in the world.
Review 📖
Tony Rican beautifully executes the art of bachelor cooking by laying out all that the young men of the world might need to create both interesting and tasty meals. Just picture walking into an empty kitchen with nothing in the cabinets, drawers, pantry, or refrigerator. Now imagine Tony Rican going to each part of the room and educating you on everything you need, from the cookware and cutlery to the parchment paper and plastic wrap, to the proper spices, flours, and oils. And best of all, the recipes are unintimidating and easy to work with, so even if you have never picked up a spatula or dared go near a stovetop, you can rest at ease that you will be up and cooking in no time.
9. The Essential Cookbook for Men
Why We Love It ❤️
Manuel Villacorta hails from the magnificent land of Peru, so many of the recipes in this cookbook for men are of a Spanish influence which is always a good thing for those who love a bit of spice.
Review 📖
The cover photo of a sandwich made up of steak, red peppers, and absolutely nothing else should be enough to appeal to any man. But make no mistake, this is not a prehistoric work that relies on only fat and protein; this cookbook is chock full of recipes like Sheet Pan Lemon Salmon with Zucchini, Basic Roasted Vegetables, and even a Chicken Mango Rainbow Wrap, all geared toward the man who wants to live a healthy lifestyle. Manuel also covers the essentials of cooking, including proper cutlery, canned goods, frozen delicious food, and of course, those fresh delectable.
10. A Man, a Can, a Microwave
Why We Love It ❤️
Not sure that there is a better cookbook for that young college student or single bachelor who cannot be bothered with putting out a seven-course meal. All you need is a can opener, a microwave, and a few minutes time, and you’ll be on your way to some quality eats!
Review 📖
This book written for David Joachim is not just any cookbook for men; it’s a cookbook designed for that young man who has yet to get in touch with his domesticated side. This is not a work that requires an extensive cookware collection, a drawer full of high-end cutlery, a pantry full of spices, or a fridge full of meats, sandwiches, fish, and vegetables; this is a cookbook that requires a can opener, a microwave, and a bit of ingenuity. Most tasty recipes only require three to five ingredients, and the recipe format is simple enough that a young child can figure things out. Real food for men!
Final Thoughts
It is without a doubt that my culinary life as a single man would have been better had I owned some of these books. I couldn’t find an American craft beer cookbook for men, a hungover cookbook, or a truck food cookbook for men, but these cookbooks made my life easier. With no processed foods and with pantry staples. I could have been rescued from the doldrums of endless plates of spaghetti and the multitude of bland cheeseburgers I was forced to endure. If you are a single man, fear not; these books will go a long way toward helping you discover the many culinary possibilities.
