Brown Butter Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

My favorite part of this cooking this recipe is enjoying the cookies fresh from the oven with a cold glass of milk. Follow each of the steps below and try it for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 caramels
  • 12 tsp peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Melt the butter over medium/low heat in a saucepan until golden brown
  3. Mix the sugars, egg, and vanilla in a bowl
  4. Add the browned butter with the aforementioned mixture
  5. In a bowl, mix the oatmeal, flour, salt, and baking powder to create the dough
  6. Refrigerate for 20 minutes
  7. Make 12 balls of the same size as the dough
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place each ball of dough on the sheet
  9. Put a square of caramel in the center of each ball of dough
  10. Add a teaspoon of peanut butter to the top of each caramel
  11. Bake for 12-14 minutes
  12. Let cool for about 15 minutes
  13. Enjoy with some cold milk!
